PFAS Chemicals: The Kirkland Baby Wipes Lawsuit

Ok, many of you have seen the recent news about the class action lawsuit that was filed against Costco claiming that their Kirkland brand baby wipes allegedly contain unsafe amounts of PFAS 'forever chemicals'.

I know many families use these wipes, including myself before switching to cloth wipes, so how concerned should we be?

Well, we know that per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) do not readily break down in the environment and that they can cause health effects so they are definitely something we should be aware of and avoid when possible in my opinion.

However, this lawsuit has only been filed, not yet proven in court, so keep that in mind when you're making your own decision on whether to dispose of them or return any you have to Costco. There will likely be more information coming in the following months if the case goes to a jury trial as the plaintiffs have requested.
