Over the last few years the economy, and more recently the tariff situation in the United States, has brought lots of rapid changes to many industries including the cloth diapering world. We've watched several seasoned cloth diapering and baby related stores close and others are just hanging on.
After seeing many stores open and close over our 16 years in business, one thing is clear. It's the companies that are responsibly and ethically run, the ones that care deeply about serving their customers, that always pull through and Thirsties is no exception.
Thirsties proudly manufactures in the United States. This allows for better oversight, safer working conditions, and more consistent quality in the cloth diapers they produce. However, many material vendors they work with still rely on raw materials that must be imported and new tariffs on these materials have significantly increased costs throughout the supply chain.
Thirsties remains firmly committed to paying fair, livable wages to their skilled team of seamstresses whose attention to detail and experience are essential to creating products that perform reliably and safely for babies. Add to that the ongoing investments in product testing, material safety, and compliance with health standards, and it becomes clear that the true cost of doing things the right way continues to rise.
Because of these factors, Thirsties has implemented a modest price increase on select products, effective Friday, January 9, 2026. This decision was not made lightly, and the increase has been kept as small as possible. The goal is not growth at any cost, but sustainability, thus ensuring that Thirsties can continue to manufacture responsibly in the USA, support living-wage jobs, and deliver the high-quality, thoughtfully designed products families rely on every day.
Choosing Thirsties means choosing durability over disposability, people over profit, and long-term value over short-term savings. We’re proud to stand behind a brand that aligns so closely with our values, and we’re grateful to customers who recognize that quality, ethics, and safety are worth protecting even when the price reflects the true cost of doing things well.
