Athletic Wicking Jersey (AWJ) is a fine mesh polyester material that is used in some cloth diapers as a moisture wicking layer against the skin. It's designed to help keep baby feeling dry (like a disposable would).
Nothing against pocket diapers, but it’s not what you want for nighttime cloth diapering. If you want leak free cloth diapering overnight, you want a fitted cloth diaper. Here's what a nighttime set up might look like:

First it's important to distinguish between swim diapers and diaper covers. Swim diapers are meant to keep 💩 poop out of the pool - full stop. It's a very important job wouldn't you agree? And a specialized one at that. Diaper covers are meant to be the waterproof layer OVER an absorbent cloth diaper that's underneath. Still very important, but quite a different function and therefore also a different cut and fit to work properly.
