Cotton or Stay-Dry? Kinder just came out with a new version of their popular Essentials Pocket Diaper, one lined with cotton mesh rather than stay-dry athletic wicking jersey mesh. So which should you choose?

If you are comparing Kinder's original pocket diaper - the Essentials Pocket lined with athletic wicking jersey (AWJ) to this new Cloud Cotton Pocket version, here's what to consider:

Essentials AWJ Pocket: Uses a 100% polyester athletic wicking jersey lining that pulls moisture off the skin and holds it in the absorbent insert, so baby feels dry on the skin longer between changes.
Choose AWJ if you're diapering baby overnight, have a heavy wetter, or have a baby who's sensitive to feeling wet.

Cloud Cotton Pocket: Uses a 100% cotton lining. This cotton version absorbs on contact instead, which means your baby will feel the wetness. For most families that's a non-issue, the cotton lining actually prompts more frequent changes, which is what pediatric guidance recommends anyway. Choose cotton if you want natural breathable fibers against baby's skin and have a baby who doesn't mind a little wetness.
